The 6 Best Automatic DeLonghi Coffee Machines of 2025 Reviewed (Buying Guide)

DeLonghi has long been a titan in the coffee machine world, blending Italian craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to deliver barista-quality brews at home. In 2025, their automatic coffee machines continue to dominate, offering everything from budget-friendly bean-to-cup models to high-end machines packed with features like touchscreen displays and app connectivity. After scouring reviews, testing insights, and consumer feedback, we’ve compiled the six best automatic DeLonghi coffee machines of 2025. Each model stands out for its performance, ease of use, and ability to craft exceptional coffee with minimal effort.

1. DeLonghi Dinamica Plus

DeLonghi really outdid itself with the Dinamica Plus, and it’s since become my gold standard mid-range super automatic espresso machine. If you peruse the Dinamica Plus manual, you’ll notice it shares most of the same features as its predecessor, including a 13-level stainless steel burr grinder and the fantastic LatteCrema milk system. However, the beautiful 3.5 inch (9 centimeter) touchscreen display takes things to another level. As if all that wasn’t enough, DeLonghi made the Dinamica Plus compatible with its Coffee Link app. Most importantly, though, the Dinamica Plus consistently produces fantastic espresso and milk foam. Oh, and you can even make iced coffee, thanks to the innovative TrueBrew Over Ice feature. You can see why I awarded this super automatic DeLonghi espresso machine “Best Overall” status, right?!

The Dinamica Plus is a super-automatic espresso machine that can brew up to 18 espresso and coffee drinks with a push of a button. The grinder grinds the beans to a uniform size, and 13 settings give you plenty of opportunities to experiment and find the optimum extraction for your espresso. There is a tubeless grinding chamber, which has minimal grind retention. Given its features, performance and reasonable asking price, the best fully automatic espresso machine is the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus.

2. DeLonghi Magnifica Evo

Costing just $549.95, the Magnifica Evo is already proving to be one of the most popular machines out there. I can certainly see why – the Magnifica Evo has it all. I mean, this affordable super automatic is loaded with all the features you’d expect from a DeLonghi. For starters there’s the classic 13-level stainless steel conical burr grinder. What’s more, the amazing DeLonghi LatteCrema system has been given an “on-demand” upgrade, making it cooler than ever. During my DeLonghi Magnifica Evo review I was impressed by the colorful and intuitive user interface, as well as how easy the machine is to operate. Add in the fact that cleaning is a breeze, and you know you’re onto a real winner!

The Magnifica Evo’s only other issue is its Americano function. Users who enjoy drip coffee will find that the temperature control for the Evo doesn’t allow any sway in the water’s temperature. While this will result in a nice, hot Americano, it also means that some caution is recommended, especially if seeking your personal “right temperature.” Additionally, those who plan to use this machine to make hot water for tea will find that its lack of water temperature control may lead to burnt tea on occasion.

3. DeLonghi Eletta Explore

If you’re after a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine with lots of bells and whistles, the Eletta Explore is worth considering. It’s a large piece of kit and one of the more expensive DeLonghi models out there, but in exchange you’re spoilt with 33 drink options, including hot, iced, and cold brew coffees, lots of accessories, adjustable settings, and an impressive digital display. The Eletta Explore also features DeLonghi’s own ‘Bean Adapt Technology’, which means regardless of the bean variety you’ve chosen, the machine adjusts its grind settings to ensure the coffee extracts perfectly.

In test, we found it struck a nice balance between customisation and automation, allowing the user lots of control over frothing texture, drink sizes and espresso intensity. All the dosing, tamping and milk streaming is done by the machine, making it a great pick for entry-level coffee enthusiasts. Like the Eletta Explore, it has a large footprint, so is better suited to those with deep countertops. Cost to pull one double espresso each day for one week: 2.4p (based on 28.62p/kWh).

4. DeLonghi Rivelia

The DeLonghi Rivelia EXAM 440.55.B is a fully automatic coffee machine offering a broad range of features and customization options. It comes with two separate 250-gram bean containers, making it easy to switch between different coffee beans. The machine features a 3.5″ touch color display, providing an intuitive and user-friendly experience. You can choose from 16 different beverages, making it ideal for meeting various preferences, from espresso to cappuccino. You can customize various settings, including the coffee strength and water hardness. It also supports pre-ground coffee as an alternative to whole beans. DeLonghi Rivelia EXAM 440.55.B offers versatility and convenience for coffee enthusiasts seeking high flexibility in their daily brewing.

Overall though the build quality is really good and love the coffee it’s producing being able to get away from coffee pods without having to spend ages dialing in is great! No more nespresso pods for me! Great black Friday deals on this machine as well so worth looking direct to delonghi!

5. DeLonghi Magnifica Start

Recently released as an upgrade to the classic Magnifica S, the DeLonghi Magnifica Start really impressed me during my review. Although I’ve long been a fan of the original Magnifica machine, the Start brings a whole host of updates into play. For one, it features the Italian manufacturer’s awesome LatteCrema automatic milk system. Not only that, the interaction between grinder, pump and brew group has certainly been improved.

This is the “fully automatic” version of the Magnifica start, so it’s the same but one with one touch cappuccino too, via the carafe milk frother. If you want ultra convenience, you might be looking for a fully automatic for one touch cappuccino, the only thing I’d say about that is that you need to take into account how picky you are about your milk temperature and texture, if you’re going for a one touch fully auto bean to cup machine. If you’re someone who likes particularly hot cappuccino and lattes, you might find you’re not too impressed with one touch milk machines, and if you’re looking for microfoam texture, not old school cappuccino texture, you might be slightly disappointed with the texture most one touch carafes will deliver.

6. DeLonghi PrimaDonna Soul

The machine features a user-friendly 4.3” TFT color touchscreen display, making it easy to navigate the wide range of options and customize the coffee to your taste. It can also connect to an app, allowing for remote operation and further personalization of your coffee drinks directly from your smartphone. In 2022, the DeLonghi ECAM 610.75.MB was awarded “Best in Test” by Stiftung Warentest.

All of the DeLonghi Primadonna machines are one touch, fully automatic coffee machines, and they all have fancy features including full colour touch screen displays and connectivity via the De’Longhi coffee app. Just take a glance at the dictionary definition of the word: “a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance” – and OK, the literal translation to English is First Woman, and the term itself came from Opera, the Prima Donna being the primary female singer (first lady), but I’m guessing the name came from how much importance they’ve given to the appearance of this range.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between a super-automatic and a fully automatic DeLonghi coffee machine?

Super-automatic and fully automatic machines are often used interchangeably, but there’s a subtle distinction. Super-automatic machines, like the Dinamica Plus or Eletta Explore, handle every step of the coffee-making process—grinding, dosing, tamping, brewing, and milk frothing—with minimal user input. Fully automatic machines, such as some Magnifica models, may require manual milk frothing via a steam wand for certain drinks, though they still automate grinding and brewing. If you want complete hands-off convenience, opt for a super-automatic model with a LatteCrema system.

Are DeLonghi coffee machines easy to clean?

Yes, most DeLonghi automatic machines are designed for easy maintenance. Models like the Magnifica Evo and Rivelia feature one-touch automatic cleaning functions for the milk carafe and guided descaling programs. The brew group in machines like the Dinamica Plus is removable, making it simple to rinse under water. Regular descaling and using a water filter can further reduce maintenance hassles.

Can I use plant-based milk with DeLonghi’s LatteCrema system?

DeLonghi’s LatteCrema system is compatible with plant-based milk like oat, almond, or soy. However, results vary depending on the milk’s composition. Oat milk tends to produce creamier foam, while almond milk may result in thinner froth. For the best texture, choose barista-style plant-based milk and experiment with the frothing settings, especially on models like the Eletta Explore, which offer customizable foam levels.

How long do DeLonghi coffee machines last?

With proper care, DeLonghi coffee machines can last 5–10 years. Regular maintenance, such as descaling every 2–3 months, using filtered water, and cleaning the brew group, extends their lifespan. Most models come with a two-year warranty, and consumer reviews often highlight durability, with some users reporting consistent performance after years of daily use.

Which DeLonghi machine is best for iced coffee?

The Eletta Explore and Dinamica Plus are top choices for iced coffee. The Eletta Explore offers dedicated iced coffee and cold brew options, with over 50 recipes, including cold drinks, thanks to its Cold Extraction Technology. The Dinamica Plus features the TrueBrew Over Ice function, which adjusts brewing to prevent dilution, delivering robust iced coffee flavors.
